Mishima Surface Decorating Workshop
Mishima pottery was first developed in Korea. It was introduced to Japan in the 16th century, and soon became popular among Japanese potters.
Mishima pottery style is created by carving a pattern into the clay surface, and then filling it with inlay materials such as inlaying slip, underglaze, or even clay.
Then the excess inlay material is carefully scraped away to reveal the design.
The final step is to glaze the pottery, which gives it a glossy and durable finish. The result is an intricate pattern that contrasts beautifully against the muted clay background.

The workshop price includes clay, glaze, tools, and all firings. The final piece will be available for pick up 2 to 3 weeks after the workshop.
Max. number of participants: We can accommodate up to 6 participants in a workshop.
